Casto Kidwell was a long-time Scouter in the Chattanooga area.  In 1989, Kidwell was recognized for 65 years of service, meaning he joined in 1924.  He participated in the 1933 Scoutmaster training course, was a leader at the 1953 National Scout Jamboree and Scoutmaster at the 1960 National Scout Jamboree.  He was awarded the Silver Beaver award in 1951.
