Lachlan Cumming Vass III is an Eagle Scout from Chattanooga, class of 1931.

His brother, John Sharp Vass, Eagle class of '29, went to the '29 World Jamboree.  He was a member of Troop 20, St. Elmo M.E. Church.

Lach was born September 13, 1915 to Lachlan C. Vass II and Frances Stedman Vass (nee Sharp).  He graduated from City High School in Chattanooga and Davidson College.  He received a bachelor of divinity degree from from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.  He married Winifred ("Winnie") H. Kellersberger.  Lach and his wife served for 30 years a missionaries in Congo.  Lach passed away on January 22, 2010.
